Horowhenua Kapiti Senior Club Rugby to be Live Streamed

The Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Football Union has teamed up with Beach FM 106.3 and Umbrella Multimedia to live stream the 2020 Horowhenua Kapiti Senior Club Rugby, which kicks off this Saturday, 20 June 2020.

A feature match will be live streamed on the HKRFU group Facebook page each Saturday, including a Semi-Final and the Final on 15 August.

The first match of the season that will be featured is in the Ramsbotham Cup Premier Competition between Levin College Old Boys and Shannon on Saturday 20 June, with the live stream from the Levin Domain starting at 2:30pm and the match kicking off at 2:45pm.

Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Football Union Chief Executive Officer, Corey Kennett is delighted to have Umbrella Multimedia on board. “We’re looking forward to the exposure that this is going to give our club rugby competition. Our community are going to be able to access these games from anywhere around the world and this is a big step forward for the promotion of our game.”

Local radio station Beach FM 106.3 is organising the commentary team which will be led by the host of their Saturday morning sports programme The Kick-Off Sport Breakfast Show, Damian Collins.

“I have loved grass roots rugby my whole life,” says Collins.  “From the kid playing in the sawdust to now, it is an absolute honour to broadcast the 2020 Ramsbotham Cup for the Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Union community.”

Umbrella Multimedia is providing all the production facilities and crew and have teamed up with new broadcaster Oriana TV to live stream the matches.  The games will also be live streamed on Beach FM 106.3 and Oriana TV Facebook pages.
