Minister of Mental Health’s visit to HKRFU 1512 2016 HKRFU
Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming the Minister of Mental Health, Matt Doocey, into the Horowhenua Kapiti RFU clubrooms, to officially launch the Health New Zealand Sports Ambassador Programme in partnership with the 12 Heartland rugby unions across Aotearoa. This programme is about more than just alcohol education. It’s about creating real change where it’s needed most, in our communities, our clubs, and among our athletes.
Alongside the Minister, it was a pleasure to host Heartland CEO’s from across the country, our local MP Tim Costley, Rangitikei MP Suze Redmayne and Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora staff. It was also special to welcome ex New Zealand Rugby League international, Sione Faumuina, who is an ambassador for the programme.
The opportunity to showcase our new facilities and to have all Heartland CEO’s in one room to discuss and embrace the future of Heartland rugby in New Zealand, was something special. We look forward to our continued partnership with Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora.
