The Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Football Union would like to thank all who attended the Wellington Hurricanes vs Canterbury Crusaders Super Rugby pre-season clash at the Levin Domain.

Our official crowd figure of 6500 was very strong and well up on last year’s crowd of 5000.

Despite the 41-15 win to the Crusaders, it was a fantastic game of rugby with 26 All Blacks taking the field, including the All Blacks captain, Richie McCaw. Being able to host and watch this calibre of players in action in Levin was a very rare occasion and we look forward to hosting another Super Rugby fixture in future.

The HKRFU would also like to thank all of our volunteers who assisted on the day. Your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to having you volunteer again.

HKRFU Chief Executive Officer Corey Kennett said that he was ecstatic with the turnout, “To have such a huge turnout was amazing. It was great to see the local community turn out in their thousands and enjoy themselves, I am very proud of the event and hope that we can replicate this in the future. Thank you to all who assisted in making this a reality, your efforts were invaluable”.
