Cricket is a great way to help keep your Rugby skills up over the Summer. Improve hand eye coordination, balance , keep fit and have fun with mates smashing the ball for six!!

Horowhenua Kapiti Cricket Association are proud to announce that this season all Junior Cricket will now be played within the Horowhenua Kapiti Region.

HKCA Cubs Junior Cricket allows more participation opportunities for all juniors wanting to give cricket a go. We have been working hard with New Zealand Cricket and are going to be delivering some exciting new formats that cater for all ages and stages.

Registrations will be centralized through an easy cricketing programme called CricHQ – some of you will already be familiar. Once registered, children will be grouped into teams and linked in with one of five local clubs which are set up and ready to support the children. During the registration process please advise if you have an affiliation with a particular club in the comments section and we will make sure we forward your registration to them. We will be trying to link players with other children from there school where possible.

Once teams are formed your Clubs Junior Convener will be in contact with more information around trainings/games etc. There will be a need for parental support for the teams so please if you are able let your Junior Convener know. HKCA will be holding some basic scoring, umpiring and coaching evenings to give you confidence in supporting the children.

HK have a two registration/open days planned where you can come along have some fun, meet some of the HKCA Bears (Senior Mens Side) hang out with some of the Central Districts Stags and join in some skills and drills.
