Hi all,

Fantastic to have another two members, Rawiri Broughton and Scott Cameron, of the 2016 Horowhenua Kapiti Heartland Championship team receive their blazer in Timaru on Saturday.

Scott Cameron debuted for the Nua in Round 1 of the 2014 Heartland Championship v Thames Valley in Levin and played every game in 2014 from the bench. Scotty is well known for his strong scrummaging and effective ball carrying which has become a trademark of his game. Scott has played in every first class game since debuting in Round 1, 2014 – a true sign of his durability and fitness, especially in the front row. Before Saturday’s game (his 25th), Scotty had played his first 12 games off the bench and his next 12 games starting, with many of those being 80 minute performances. We look forward to having Scotty involved in the Heartland team for many more games to come and Scotty should feel very proud to receive his blazer.

Ra, aka Scrappy, debuted in the 2013 Ranfurly Shield Challenge v Waikato, coming from the bench. Ra has been a consistent performer at halfback for the Heartland team over the past 4 seasons and despite not yet scoring a try, he is often giving the last pass to a try. Ra played in all 9 games of the 2014 season and played his 25th game for the Nua last week v King Country. We will no doubt see Ra in the Nua Jersey for many more games to come and receiving his blazer on Saturday is an accolade for a true Nua man.

Congratualtions to Ra and Scott, well deserved!
